Junior Courses
(students aged 13-21 years)
Study Holidays
These courses combine tuition in General
English with a programme of excursions and leisure activities.
The students receive full board accommodation in either a host
family or in a residential
centre.
We offer courses for students of all levels, from Beginners to
Advanced. Maximum class size is 15, but we aim to have nearer 12.
Courses vary in length from 1 week to 3 months.
The full programme for these courses includes:
- Family accommodation with full board
- English lessons (17.5 hours per week including a 15 minute
break).
The students are given a test on arrival and will then be placed
in the appropriate class according to their level. Each class
is taught by a minimum of two teachers. A Course Report is presented
to each student at the end of the course.
- Students can work on a project, if requested
- Afternoon cultural, sports or leisure activities
These may include a guided visit to a museum, tour of a stately
home, sport at the Sports Centre (basketball, volleyball, tennis,
badminton, football or swimming) or leisure activities such as
Pitch and Putt, laser games, or ten pin bowling.
- One full day excursion per week
Popular choices are London and Cambridge for a full day excursion.
- One half-day excursion per week
A visit to a stately home and a coastal visit are always very
successful.
- Evening activities
May include discos, 10-pin bowling, cinema, skating.
- Supervision
An experienced English leader is allocated to every group of
students on excursions and activities. There is a ratio of one
leader for every fifteen students.
